Terminator Cheetah!!!

I am constantly ranting about the possibility of Skynet being plausible. I truly believe if we keep creating machines that out perform humans in every way then they will capture and enslave us all. Maybe that last bit was a slight stretch. Remember Cheetor from the Transformers film (Some can dispute if that was him or not, I am sticking to my guns until someone corrects me)  and how devastating he was! Well Boston Dynamics have took it upon themselves to create the cyber-cat. This cat can run about 28 MPH, sure you can go faster then that in a car, but on foot your better off calling the morgue yourself. So far it can reach that speed on a treadmill, but they care working on a outdoor terrain model. Below is a graphic of the Wildcat (outdoor terrain model), a video of it reaching it's speed, and what I envision it will look like in about 5 years to the end of the human race!

Fish Parasite Named After Bob Marley

I read this article and I had no intention of posting it, but the side of me that found this funny couldn't help but to put it out there for others. So an assistant professor of marine ecology and field marine biology at Arkansas State University (We are going to call him Paul Sikkel...because that is his name) discovered and named a "gnathiid isopod" after the reggae artist. [For a description on what a gnathiid is click here http://bit.ly/LfUKmx.]

What fascinated me about the article was that they really named a parasite after a musician. I don't see how that is a great honor but who am I to judge right. Here is the official description of the parasite: "a small parasitic crustacean blood feeder that infests certain fish that inhabit the coral reefs of the shallow eastern Caribbean." .....WHAAAAT?! I guess because they both are from the caribbean I can kind of see why they relate. (my head was shaking no as I said that last statement.) Below is a picture of a fish being harassed by the Bob Marley parasite. Enjoy ShiNigglers.

Herman The Monster

I have been trying to keep this blog as unpolitical as possible but it is obvious that Mr. Cain won't stay out of the spotlight! What? You didn't hear?! I won't even bring up the countless allegations that were previously brought up about him, just the most recent one. A little gem by the name of Ginger White claims that she had a 13-year affair with the republican's best hope for beating Obama. Of course Mr. Cain denies everything, but denying can only get you so far sir. It seems that Ms. White has 61 recorded calls or text messages from his "private phone" to prove she isn't lying. Herman Cain was a fad for a short time and the people's patience is running quite thin. Plenty of politicians have had scandals and a couple of things leak out, but this has become a tsunami of epic proportions. His score on the polls is dropping and people are caring less about his policy and more about the next woman accusing him of "Who knows what." Mr. Cain, you're a man first and it is expected for you to be flawed, if it is true just admit it and keep going strong with your policies. Below are some quotes from the Hermanator himself. Enjoy Shinigglers!

Black Friday Violence

Lets be honest, sometimes the best part of black Friday is watching the crazies run rampant throughout the store. Or is it just me, all well. I was sorely disappointed when I didn't get to see people fight over the last PS3 on sale, but luckily I am an avid internet searcher. Last Night/ This Morning a woman sprayed a couple of shoppers with pepper spray, to make sure she got the last Xbox 360. Obviously this isn't  funny, and the woman deserves to be caught and pay for the injuries she caused. I am all for her keeping the Xbox though, she earned it (SPOILS OF WAR!!).

Robots Playing Ping Pong

I have said it once and I will say it again, we are slowly moving towards the days depicted by the "Terminator." Every couple of months the advancement of robots increase and we get one step closer to being enslaved by them. Recently students at China's Zhejiang University decided to demonstrate their robots (Wu and Kong) as they played a leisurely game of table tennis. The robots stand 5.2 feet tall and weigh about 120 pounds, their eyes are cameras that feed real-time images at 120 frames per second. So far they have reached up to 176 strokes back and forth. Why don't people understand that Skynet don't play!!!

Sylar and Spock Are Both Gay!!!

If you watched the series Heroes (Best show ever, minus the last season UGH) you know that Sylar was a serial killer that isn't afraid to lurk in the shadows or come out of a closet to get his victims. In the same fashion as the character he portrayed Zachary Quinto has taken method acting to a whole new level, he decided to "Come out of the closet" himself recently. No I don't mean he went on a rampage and took advantage of some helpless victim, rather he prefers willing males apparently. (Oh I could go on and on with this) Because of the recent homosexual suicides  Mr. Quinto decided to come out in a very smooth fashion, remarking to a comment saying "As a gay man". Honestly I don't care what actors are gay or  not, as long as they do an amazing job on-screen. I still think NPH is amazing, although his coming out caught me surprise (NPH your still the MAN!!!!). What do you think?

Oh China, What Will You Steal Next?!

September 1st will not only be remembered as the day Nazi Germany invaded Poland and began World War II. No September 1st will be remembered for another important event in history! It will be remembered as the day China decided to open up an "Angry Birds" Theme Park, without consulting the people that own it. The theme parked opened too a large audience, giving the patrons the chance to take turns shooting the birds a pig balloon. Official correspondence states that it is a way to relieve stress for the masses that come to the park. Rovio, the game's Finnish developer, is willing to work out a partnership especially since the park has already been established. This is not the first time China has dealt with dirty dealings, does anyone remember the little mishap with the fake iPhone store...?

Making The Smart Phone Even Smarter!!!

The creative minds at Layar had already created a augmented-reality browser, but now they have decided to add a visual search to its features. All you have to do is point your phone's camera at an object in the real world and a specific digital activity will occur.

Your probably asking yourself what is a specific digital activity? Well ShiNigglers I will be glad to explain this phenomenon in better detail so you don't leave here confused. If you were to point your phone at a pair of your friend's new shoes, and a buy button may pop up. If your looking at some historic monument and might want some more information just point your phone at it and a video will start to play. In the video below you see a person reading a magazine and he uses the program to on the article, giving him the option to share it on social media.

Layar's augmented-reality browser will be available within the upcoming months for both iPhone and Android phones. If you don't have either, then you don't have a smart phone; NO BlackBerrys don't count.

Steve Jobs Out The Job?!

Apple just announced that Steve Jobs has resigned as chief executive officer and the board has announced that Tim Cook will take his place. Cook was the previous chief operating officer for Apple. Jobs will still have a role in Apple, as we will be the new chairmen of the board. Tim Cook will also soon be joining the board himself. Below is a copy of his resignation Letter.

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

The Notebook Guy To The Rescue

When he isn't making kissy face to Rachel McAdams (I SAW HER FIRST RYAN), Ryan Gosling is saving the day. In this amateur and accidental footage, a girl catches him getting in between a fight in the middle of the street. The fight was over a vendor saying a man stole his painting, in a very batman-esque fashion Mr. Gosling swoops out of nowhere dropping his groceries in an attempt to stop the fight. After pulling the two apart he offers the man 20 dollars (Painting only cost $10) and then kept it moving. Bruce Wayne may have some competition real sooooon! Watch the video below!

Wacked by A Wacker

I was about to title this, "parents just don't understand", but I knew I could be wittier. Yashesh Desai is being charged with first degree murder for killing his father with a weed wacker. Reports say that he repeatedly hit is father over the head with the wacker. It was about 3 a.m. when the Woodridge police responded to a phone call from Yashesh's brother. According to the brother, Yashesh went to the father as he was asleep and began beating him relentlessly. I mean SHEESH, Yashesh tone it down, by your picture it's obvious you smoke weed and well I could make a joke about that...but my inner self is like "Too soon man, too soon..." Tell me what you think.

Vital Sign Monitoring Through The Skin

The massive amounts of electrodes that are attached to you in the hospital may be a thing of the past! Researchers have developed this small tattoo like film to be attached to your skin and perform the same functions as that wiring. To truly give you a perspective of the size, imagine it being thinner then a diameter of human hair. This electrode device can stay on the hand for about 24 hours, but researchers say that it can last up to two weeks before it falls from normal human skin shedding. The device doesn't only monitor vital signs it can also monitor brain waves, muscle movements,  sense the larynx of speech, emit heat to help wounds, be touch sensitive, and attached to onto artificial limbs. A little scary that we may be one step closer to branding people as identification. What do you think?!

Fastest Plane EVER!

Is this truly the fastest plane ever? It is the fastest unmanned plane for sure, DARPA this morning launched this bad boy up into the air attached to a rocket. The plane was clocked at a cool brisk 13,000 mph, if you need to understand that in real world terms; it can fly from Los Angeles to New York in less then 12 minutes. During the test today it was expected to just glide through the upper atmosphere reaching speeds of Mach 20 and landing about 4,000 miles from Vandenberg. If you want to a look at the science of it check out the video below...my Geek senses were tingling all over this one.

I Guess Rebecca Black Is Looking Forward To The Weekend

Rebecca Black has reportedly dropped out of school because she didn't feel safe in her environment. Rebecca says that as she walks through the hallways of her school students would yell mean things at her ::Playing the world's tiniest violin::. When she walked by people would begin singing "Friday" in a nasally voice or scream out to her "Hey Rebecca, guess what today is?!" I actually chuckled as I read that statement. Apparently, enough was enough as she has decided to drop out of school and begin the grand adventure that is home schooling. I don't know how I feel about that seeing how being a teenager is the toughest time of everyone's life. I wouldn't know, I skipped that part of my life completely. Kids will be kids, and of course your going to get teased about something. When she gets older she look back at this and realize that they were making fun of her for being famous....seems a bit backwards right?!

At this point I would have probably posted the Friday video (felt like changing it up),  this goes out to Rebecca Black!
